Temporary Closure of the American Cultural Center

Lusaka – The American Cultural Center, located at COMESA Center (ground floor), Ben Bella Road, will temporarily close to the public effective immediately as a result of a fire that occurred Friday, December 9 at the COMESA building. The American Cultural Center sustained no fire damage but did sustain water and smoke damage from elsewhere in the building. The public will be notified when normal operations are expected to resume.

The American Cultural Center serves as the United States Embassy’s research and reference center with free access to the public. Founded in 1975, the Center enables visitors – including journalists, educators, students, civil society representatives and government representatives – free access to review books, professional journals, commercial directories, electronic databases, and the Internet for current information about United States policy, legislation, trade, education, social and cultural issues.
