Timeline

Applying to American Universities is a long and cumbersome process.  The more you plan out and the earlier you start the better your university experience will be.  If the process is rushed you can end up attending a university that does not fit your needs and you can end up diminishing your chances of getting scholarships.  The American school year begins in August, and the application process takes over a year.  The timeline is as follows:

April – August: Plan, evaluate your academic and financial resources, research and find the 10  best universities for you.

September – December: Schedule tests, take TOEFL and SAT or ACT, write practice essays, and obtain applications, records and recommendations

December  – February: Apply to universities (up to 4)

April – May: Receive acceptance and financial aid decisions

June – August: Apply for VISA

August: Start your new adventure in America
