Adoptions

As of 22 December 2007, the US Embassy in Lusaka, Zambia was notified that the Government of Zambia has temporarily suspended the processing of the adoptions of Zambian children by foreign parents.  This temporary suspense is still in effect as of April 15, 2008.  Unfortunately, the embassy has no way of knowing when adoptions will resume.  We urge that prospective adoptive parents refer to http://travel.state.gov/family/adoption or http://zambia.usembassy.gov for further updates and information.
