What All Visa Applicants Need to Present Additional Requirements for Students and Exchange Visitors How To Submit Visa Applications With the use of the EVAF (Electronic Visa Application Form), applicants must complete the nonimmigrant visa application form (number DS-156)via the Internet at http://zambia.usembassy.gov/. This form produces a barcode, which the Consular Section scans to enter information into its system, making data entry more efficient. This form cannot be sent electronically, and all three pages must be printed and brought to the consular section. Hand-written applications can no longer be accepted after November 1, 2006 NOTE: All visa applicants must appear personally for an interview. Please plan accordingly. Picking Up Your Visa On the day of your interview, you will usually be requested to return to the Consular Section in the afternoon (Monday – Thursday at 1500 hours) to pick up your passport with the visa. However, even if you are granted a visa, the Embassy cannot guarantee that your visa will be printed and ready the same day. Applicants should apply for visas in advance of planned travel.
